Teachers – Mrs Sue Narramore
Cherry Class Curriculum
Autumn Term 2018 – First Half
Welcome back! I hope that you all had a wonderful summer. The children have settled back in well and are full of enthusiasm for our first topic, Up, Up and Away. (Click image below to enlarge)
You will find the topic details below . These objectives are to be taught through all things we may link to the sky – birds, clouds, aeroplanes and aerial photos among others.
The mornings will include sessions for spelling, maths and English. In the afternoons there will be both taught sessions and investigations based on the questions:
- Who were the first people in the sky?
- What can you see from the sky?
- How could we make our own flying machine?
The children will have PE sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday this year although it may be best to have their kit in school all week just in case. As the weather is likely to become colder it would be helpful if they could have some warm layers included.
All of the children have now been given a reading pack where they can keep their dairies and reading books together. We will also use these packs to send home any letters or information. These packs should be brought in every day please.
Homework will be set on a Thursday and should be returned on the following Tuesday. Additional information will be included inside the cover of the homework book. There will also be periodic topic based homework some weeks instead of the English or maths as detailed in the latest newsletter.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to come in and see me.
