Chestnut Class

Welcome to Chestnut Class!

Teachers: Mrs Slater and Mrs Crossley-May

Welcome back. This is what Chestnut class will be covering this half term.

Topic – Our topics this half term will be: Sustainability (Geography and Science) and Living things and their habitats (mainly scientific classification) (See below for more details).

Homework – will be set on a Thursday and will need to be completed by the following Tuesday. There will be a piece of maths or English as well as spellings, times tables and reading (x15 mins daily.)

Reading – please continue to hear your child read and then sign their reading log book. It makes such a difference to their reading in all curriculum areas if they are heard at home regularly. When your child has collected five signatures, they will receive a golden ticket which will be entered into a weekly draw where two pupils will have the chance to win 15 minutes of golden time.

PE will be handball on a Tuesday or Friday and gymnastics will be on a Monday or Thursday. (dependant on Oak class and their swimming lessons and hall availability).

However sometimes the timetable has to change suddenly, so it would be really helpful if your child could have their PE kit in school all week.

Water bottles – please make sure your child has a full, named and clean water bottle in school each day.

As the weather gets colder and wetter, please ensure your child has a coat, gloves, hat and scarf in school.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Mrs Slater and Mrs Crossley-May
