Chestnut Class

Welcome to Chestnut Class!

Teachers: Mrs Crossley-May and Mrs Conlin

Welcome back. This is what Chestnut class will be covering this half term.

Topic – Our topic this half term will be: Animals and their life cycles.’ See below for more details.

Homework – will be set on a Thursday and will need to be completed by the following Tuesday. There will usually be a piece of maths and literacy as well as spellings, times tables and reading (x15 mins daily.)

Reading – please continue to hear your child read and then sign their reading log book. It makes such a difference to their reading in all curriculum areas if they are heard at home regularly. When your child has collected five signatures, they will receive a golden ticket which will be entered into a weekly draw where they will have two chance to win 15 minutes of golden time.

PE will be hockey on Tuesday mornings.

However sometimes the timetable has to change suddenly, so it would be really helpful if your child could have their PE kit in school all week.

Water bottles – please make sure your child has a full, named and clean water bottle in school each day.

For more detailed information on each subject area, please see the curriculum overview overleaf.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Mrs Conlin and Mrs Crossley-May
